The WEG Flameproof Ex db motor range is purpose-built for Zone 1 and Zone 2 gas environments. Its robust cast iron enclosure contains any internal ignition, preventing propagation into the surrounding atmosphere. Available in low, medium, and high voltage — covering power outputs from 0.12 kW to 4.5 MW. The most widely specified Ex motor type across Australian oil & gas, mining, and chemical sites.

Increased Safety/Non-sparking Ex ec
WEG’s Increased Safety and Non-sparking Ex ec motors are engineered to prevent sparks, arcs, and excessive temperatures during normal operation — including start-up. Covering both Zone 1 & 2 (Ex eb Increased Safety) and Zone 2 only (Ex ec Non-sparking) environments, this range offers a reliable and cost-effective alternative to flameproof construction in suitable applications. Available in IE2 and IE3 efficiency ratings, with VSD compatible models also available.

Dust Ignition Proof Ex t
The WEG Dust Ignition Proof Ex t motor range is specifically developed for environments where combustible dust is the primary risk. Designed for Zone 21 and Zone 22 classified areas, it reliably handles combustible dust in suspension or in layers up to 5 mm. Commonly specified in grain processing, cereal handling, textile fibre, powder coating, polymer manufacturing, and timber operations. Compliant with IEC 60034-30-1 efficiency requirements.
